Jean Patiky

For most of my career, I have been a studio artist using reference photos as inspiration for my paintings. Currently, I've enjoyed the challenge of plein air painting. Returning to New England after many years in tropical South Florida, I've enjoyed the challenge of the changing seasons. My goal is to create an impression of time, place and atmospheric light, with direct painting and economy of brush strokes. Predominantly a painter, I have also been attracted to calligraphy and drawing My drawings, consistent in style to my paintings, aim to capture the moment as quickly and concisely as possible. My work can be seen in private and corporate collections and locally, in my studio/gallery in Providence.
