The galleries of the Providence Art Club are always free and open to the public. Founded in 1880, the Art Club has been mounting regular exhibitions for nearly 150 years. Since 1886, the galleries have been located at 11 Thomas Street. Today the Club's three public exhibition spaces primarily feature work by the Club's 250+ Exhibiting Artist Members. Special shows like the annual National Open Juried Exhibition, Community Invitational Exhibition, and the College Biennial highlight non-member artists. Exhibits are typically three weeks in length and feature public receptions.

All of the works exhibited in the Club's galleries are available for sale and fine art is tax free in Rhode Island. While prices range, many of the works exhibited at the Art Club are priced at $1,000 or less and every November and December the Club hosts its popular Little Pictures Show & Sale which features hundreds of artworks priced at $350 or less. The galleries are an inviting venue to start or build an art collection with a focus on local artists. Effective July 1, 2026, the Art Club charges a 3% surcharge on artworks purchased with credit and debit cards. All gallery sales are final.

The galleries have received press from publications like Artscope Magazine, Rhode Island Monthly, Providence Monthly, the Providence Journal, the Boston Globe, and the New York Times. Each year since 2019 the galleries have earned coveted Best of Rhode Island Awards for Best Art Gallery in Providence. New visitors are always welcome and the Club's Gallery Manager Michael Rose is happy to provide free tours of the galleries by appointment.
