Be Sure to Check This Page Often

In an ongoing effort to communicate with our members, we are posting periodic updates regarding exhibitions, programs, and activities, and any interruptions during this time of uncertainty around the globe. Our staff is actively engaged in several projects that will enhance our membership experience. Your Board will continue to monitor the situation and make every effort to reopen the Club as soon as possible.

New! Summer Workshops: Yes, the Providence Art Club will have workshops this summer! Whether in "Real Time" or online, they will happen. Right now, Abba Cudney, under Angel Dean's guidance, is reaching out to every instructor that was scheduled to teach, to see if they would still be interested in giving a class through PAC. Not only is Abba asking these local and national instructors if they will teach this year, but to also consider lecturing at PAC for 2021. This could be the first time in PAC's history that we would have two seasons of workshops lined up. Stay tuned for more.

New! PAC Cocktail Club: Every Friday we will also be posting a video on the PAC website of your favorite bartenders mixing creative cocktails for your next Zoom happy hour or to enjoy before your PAC takeout. Visit our PAC Online Page for more. Would you rather have the pros mix your drinks? We are happy to serve you, to go! Visit our Cocktail Menu HERE.

The 2020 National Show is now online. View the show HERE. All 100 of these pieces will be hosted on our website, and on a PDF catalog. We will promote this show via our social media channels, email list, and web presence. The artists who take home our top five prizes will be invited to show their work at a future Members' Exhibition at the Art Club.

The Executive Committee and Board of Managers communicate electronically each week and monitor the situation on national and local levels. They also connect with other local organizations by sharing information.

The Art Of Giving: As we meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can’t help but think of the doctors, nurses, and caregivers on the front lines. It is in that spirit and the Art of Giving that the Providence Art Club is donating boxed lunches to Women & Infants Hospital. If you are interested, simply add your donation of $10-$20 when you place your next lunch order. Platters of sandwiches with sides will be delivered to the hospital as donations accumulate. We all are so fortunate and have so much to give these good men and women who continue to serve us in our time of need. This is a small way to show our appreciation.

140th Anniversary Events: The following events have been postponed, but will not be forsaken! We will schedule ‘Members’ Night: Revelations and Reminisces, 3 Artist Friends ‘Time Travel’’ and our ‘PAC Talent Show’ as soon as the situation allows.

Travel to Ireland with Friends from the Art Club: Postponed.

Sundays at the Providence Art Club, Explorations in Art: We will reschedule the April, May, and June programs. September and October programs will go forward as planned unless we find we need to re-evaluate the situation.

Exhibition Schedule: Gallery Manager Michael Rose is currently working on the gallery’s schedule for 2020-21, which will be impacted by ongoing postponements and rescheduling of exhibits, and should have more details soon. Your patience is appreciated.

Online Gallery: Michael and gallery staff are working on a robust and engaging “Gallery On-Line”. See our online gallery tours [HERE].

For 140 years the Providence Art Club has been connecting people interested in art and culture. Although we can’t do that through our traditional means right now, we hope that many of you who are home with your devices will take a moment to connect with us on social media so we can stay in touch!

And don't forget to stay up to date with the Club during our hiatus via our social media pages:

Art Club Members Facebook Group: a place for members to post and share their work, studio news, tips, and encouragement. [CLICK HERE] to see what fellow members are up to!

You can join us on our public Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We hope you might post and share with your friends and encourage them to follow along too.

Let’s work together to continue building the kind of connections that have fueled art culture in our area for more than a century!
