The Pastel Seascape: Creating Motion and Translucency
featuring artist Jeanne Rosier Smith
Thursday, December 3, 6pm, Live via Zoom
$15 PAC Members | $25 Non-Members
We are thrilled to welcome pastel artist Jeanne Rosier Smith for an exciting demo and studio tour.
About This Program
Spend an hour with Jeanne in her studio as she shares her approach to painting seascapes in pastel. Jeanne will show how she takes a piece from the beginning layers to create depth, translucency and movement in ocean waves.
Jeanne Rosier Smith grew up in Maryland and has a PhD in English, but switched to full time art sixteen years ago, after discovering pastels. She has been teaching for over thirty years, twenty of them in art, and credits those years with teaching her how to paint. She’s spending much more time painting than teaching recently, and is now working with eight galleries. Her work is in collections on six continents. She is thrilled with the resurgence in pastel and encouraged by its growing popularity with collectors and students alike. She painted her first seascape twelve years ago and is now known for them, and finds the subject more fascinating with each painting.
This program will take place live via Zoom on Thursday, December 3 at 6:00pm EST. Participants will receive the Zoom link the day of the event. Admission is $15 for PAC Members and $25 for non-members.
