Capture your world as the observant artist you are! Make your travels and experiences even more memorable. See what it takes to bring your art into your every day, and your every day into your art.
We’ll start with a brief discussion in the studio each day, exploring strategies, approaches, and equipment for on-site sketching and plein air painting. Then we’ll head out to draw, taking advantage of resources and inspiring locations within easy walking distance of the Art Club. After lunch we’ll head out again for our afternoon adventure.
Venues might include the RISD Museum, the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab, the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology, the park at Roger Williams National Memorial, and the beautiful College Hill neighborhood. Our plans will be flexible and weather-dependent!
Come prepared with portable materials, and be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. All you really need is pencil and paper, but other favorite drawing and painting media are welcome too.
